Geography (AQA)
Aim
Students are undertaking the GCSE Geography AQA specification.
Topics covered
Over the two-year course, students will complete three units:
- Unit one: Living with the physical environment (35%)
- Unit two: Challenges in the human environment (35%)
- Unit three: Geographical applications (30%)
In Unit one, students will be taught three topics:
- The challenge of natural hazards
- The living world
- Physical landscapes in the UK
In Unit two, students will be taught three topics:
- Urban challenges
- The changing economic world
- The Challenge of Resource Management
In Unit three, students will be taught two topics:
- Issue elevation, where students will learn how to use pre-released material for their examination
- Fieldwork, students will be examined on their fieldwork enquiries in an external examination
Spelling, punctuation and grammar will be assessed in all three units.
