Headteacher: Ms Gooden
Linda Gooden graduated with a B.A. Honours Degree in English followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and Master of Education in Educational Management qualification. She has also completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship and the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership.
She has extensive leadership experience gained from working in a number of secondary schools in different local authorities since she joined the teaching profession.
At various times, she has been the Head of an English Department, a Deputy Headteacher in two different schools and an Associate Headteacher. She was appointed to the Headship at King Edward VII School in 2016.
Deputy Headteacher: Mrs Warde
Louisa Warde completed a degree in Drama with English at The University of Manchester, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Louisa also completed a Level 3 certificate in Counselling Skills alongside her undergraduate degree.
Louisa joined the School as an English and Drama teacher and has been a Drama Curriculum Leader. Louisa was appointed as Assistant Head of Year 10 and later became Year 10 and Year 11 Year Leader. Louisa was appointed as Assistant Headteacher responsible for Key Stage 4 in 2011. Louisa is a member of the School's safeguarding team, as Designated Safeguarding Deputy and is also the School's Senior Mental Health Lead. Louisa was appointed as Deputy Headteacher of King Edward VII School in 2024.
Business Manager: Mrs Ellerby
Donna Ellerby has had an extensive career in Financial Management, initially working within the National Health Service for many years. She has over twenty years’ experience of working in Schools’ Financial Management and her leadership experience has spanned various sectors within Sheffield.
Donna has represented the Local Authority as a peripatetic bursar, providing financial advice and support to schools across the city. She was appointed as School Business Manager at King Edward VII School in 2022.
Assistant Headteacher Key Stage 3: Mr Gardiner
Robert Gardiner graduated from Liverpool John Moores University and completed the Graduate Teacher Programme in Sheffield at Westfield School, following early experience in a Key Stage 3 Pupil Referral Unit. He became Curriculum Leader for Physical Education in 2013 before moving into senior leadership, leading teaching and learning and later behaviour and rewards.
In 2022, he was appointed Key Stage 3 Assistant Headteacher at King Edward VII School and has completed the National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership and the National Professional Qualification for Headship.
Assistant Headteacher Key Stage 4: Mr Kennedy
James Kennedy graduated with a B.A. Honours Degree in Economics, followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Sheffield. He has completed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.
Alongside teaching mathematics, James has a wide range of experience of leadership at King Edward VII School: leading the Foundation Learning course before becoming Year Leader of Years 10 and 11 and then overall Key Stage Leader. James is also one of the School's designated safeguarding team members, as Designated Safeguarding Deputy. James was appointed to his role as Assistant Headteacher for Key Stage 4 in 2024.
Assistant Headteacher Key Stage 5: Mr Cooke
Simon Cooke graduated from The University of Sheffield with a BSc (Sp Hons) 2.1 Chemistry before gaining experience in research and marketing. He joined King Edward VII School in 1992 as a Science teacher and has since held a range of leadership and pastoral roles within the School, including Post-16 Raising Achievement Leader. He holds the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.
Simon has a broad experience of student personal development, having led the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award programme for over a decade. He holds professional qualifications in outdoor education, including Winter Mountain Leader and Mountain Instructor Award and has led School expeditions in the UK and abroad.
Alongside his work in School, Simon has contributed at national level as an AQA Team Leader for A Level Practical Endorsement, supporting over 200 schools. He was appointed Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for the Sixth Form in September 2018.
Assistant Headteacher Inclusion: Ms Jackson
Catherine Jackson graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2001 with a BSc. Honours in Physical Education (with Education). She completed the SENDCO Leadership Award at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Catherine joined King Edward VII School in 2016 as Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and Safeguarding. She also has strategic responsibilities for attendance across the School and Children who are Looked After. Catherine is the School's Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Assistant Headteacher Teaching and Learning: Mr Harland
Matthew Harland graduated from Edinburgh University with an M.A. Honours Degree in History, entering the teaching profession as a History teacher through the Teach First Leadership Development programme in 2011. He holds an M.A. in Educational Leadership, a National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching and a National Professional Qualification for Headship.
After working in two inner-London secondary schools, he returned to Sheffield in 2016 and joined King Edward VII School as Curriculum Leader for History and Politics. He was appointed to his current position as Assistant Headteacher responsible for Teaching and Learning in 2021.
Assistant Headteacher Continuing Professional Development: Mrs Glossop
Natalie Glossop graduated with a B.A. Honours Degree in Physical Education, Sport and Dance. She has completed the National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership and the National Professional Qualification for Headship.
At various times, she has been Initial Teacher Training Senior Mentor, Tutor for Early Careers Teachers, Key Stage 3 Year Leader and Professional Development Co-ordinator. She was appointed to the post of Assistant Headteacher responsible for Continuing Professional Development in 2022.
Alongside her current role, she carries out quality assurance work for the South Yorkshire Teaching Hub and delivers local and regional Early Career Teacher training.
Assistant Headteacher Timetabling and Staffing: Mr Hovers
Shaun Hovers graduated with a BSc. Honours in Physics and Computer Science and later obtained a BSc in Mathematics Education. He has also completed a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership.
He has worked in two different local education authorities, has spent time in academic research at university level and worked outside of education prior to becoming a teacher of Mathematics
Shaun has been a Curriculum Leader for both Mathematics and Computing and a school governor. Returning to Sheffield in 2001, he joined King Edward VII School, took on responsibility for the School timetable in 2012 and was appointed Assistant Headteacher in 2018.
