  • Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and Year 11)

Y10 studentsThe next two years will require sustained hard work from your child. When studying GCSE, BTEC or Diploma placement courses, it is particularly important that students do not fall behind in their work and meet assessment deadlines to ensure that they fulfil their potential. Many subjects have assessments throughout the year, so regular School attendance is essential.

Key dates are published in the School calendar and emailed to students and parents via the weekly bulletin. We will work hard over the next two years to help all students achieve what they are capable of.

    Year 10

There will be three academic reviews for Year 10 during the weeks beginning 2 November 2026, 25 January 2027 and 3 May 2027. The Year 10 Parents’ Evening is on Tuesday 9 February 2027.

We use the School Cloud app for Parents’ Evening. Year 10 students will have an assessment fortnight at the end of March when they will take in-class assessments in most of their subjects. All Year 10 students will do a work experience placement from Monday 21 June 2027 to Friday 2 July 2027.

    Year 11

The first academic progress review is during the week beginning Monday 12 October 2026 in preparation for Parents’ Evening on Thursday 15 October 2026. The second review is on Monday 14 December 2026 and the final Year 11 review is issued in the week beginning Monday 22 March 2027. In addition to this, the year team will track the progress of your child carefully and will put in place interventions to support if necessary.

After Christmas, a number of revision sessions will be available in a range of subjects as students start to prepare for exams. Year 11 trial examinations, during which Year 11 have study leave and only attend when they have an exam, are from Monday 09 November to Wednesday 18 November 2026 and Monday 08 February 2027 to Thursday 25 February 2027.

The deadline for Post 16 applications to School, College and training providers is Monday 25 January 2027. We encourage parents to contact us throughout the year to discuss ways in which we can work together to support students’ learning, development and achievement. There are regular support sessions available for students who might need additional help with homework or getting organised.
