    Teaching groups

    Students with an aptitude for foreign language learning will have the opportunity to study a second language. Parents and students will be able to express a preference.

    Assessment

    Formal assessment tasks are set at least once a term, usually before the Schools’ data collection points. The range of assessed tasks set will vary, but will typically include writing, speaking (speaking card/role play), listening, and reading and translation exercises. The tests set may not be identical for each of the taught languages, but will be standardised within each language. Feedback in the form of grades and targets will be given to students. Students will also have regular vocabulary tests to consolidate learning.
