Students complete DoE gold

A total of 58 students have successfully completed their practice expedition for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award in the Peak District.

Over the course of the expedition, students navigated challenging terrain, worked collaboratively in their teams and developed resilience, independence and leadership skills. For several students, this marked their very first experience of camping overnight, making the achievement even more significant.

Despite demanding routes, the groups showed determination and teamwork, gaining valuable experience ahead of their qualifying expedition. Staff praised the students for their positive attitude, organisation and support for one another throughout the journey.

The practice expedition represents an important milestone in the Gold DofE programme and has given students the confidence and practical skills needed for the next stage of their award.
