Students remain cream of the crop

Sport is a key focus for many of our students who represent the School at various sports events across the city and have achieved some great results.

Sport is a key focus for many of our students who represent the School at various sports events across the city, below are some of our most recent highlights:

  • Both the Year 7 and Year 8 girls Sportshall Athletics teams were crowned winners at the recent Sheffield Championships. They now progress to the South Yorkshire finals on 19 March competing against Schools from Doncaster, Barnsley and Rotherham. The Year 7 and Year 8 boys teams also did well coming fifth and fourth respectively
  • Six Key Stage 3 students qualified for the Climbing Championships on 11 March. Adrian won the award for resilience and two of our other students came second and third place in the competition securing King Edward Vll School in second place overall
  • The Year 9 netball team finished their final league meet of the season on a high note, showing just how much they have improved throughout the year. They achieved excellent results, winning 9–7 against Tapton and securing an impressive 8–0 victory over Westfield. It has been an incredible season for the team
  • Well done to all of the Year 7 and Year 8 trampolinists who took part in the Sheffield Schools Trampolining Competition on recently. This was the first time the school has entered this event, making it a significant and exciting milestone for our team. Competing in front of a judging panel can be a nerve-racking experience, particularly at a first competition. However, all of the girls demonstrated great courage and determination. They gained valuable competition experience, grew in confidence throughout the evening, and learned a great deal from the opportunity. A special congratulations goes to Freya in Year 7, who performed exceptionally well and achieved a silver medal in the Under 13 Girls’ category — a fantastic accomplishment
