Keeping students safe
- Safeguarding Leads and Deputies offer support and help to students and families and are situated across both sites
- King Edward VII School has a highly trained and dedicated pastoral team for each year group who will take the necessary steps (as outlined in our policies) to ensure students are safe
- The School makes referrals to outside agency support where appropriate. Police, Fire Service, Local Authority, Online Safety teams and The Corner, to name but a few
- Students access a range of safeguarding assemblies and form time activities
- School liaises with the Sheffield Attendance and Inclusion Service to support vulnerable families
- Share information with other educational establishments for transitional purposes
- School uses a Child Protection Online Monitoring Software (CPOMS) to record all concerns, queries and referrals
- Through CPD, we have robust training opportunities for all staff, volunteers and The Governing Board
- Contacts parents and carers to communicate concerns if appropriate
- Delivers a robust PSHE curriculum that explores and tackles a vast range of safeguarding topics
- Monitors internet usage within School using the Smoothwall system
- Works in partnership with the Sheffield Safeguarding Advisors
- Liaises with the Sheffield Safeguarding Hub
- Use Interventions and educational pathways to support and educate students
