Duke of Edinburgh

At King Edward VII School we have a long tradition of offering the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to all our students.  The Bronze Award is offered to all Year 9 students, and usually around 100 of them take up the challenge each year.  The Gold Award is offered to all Year 12 students, and usually around 60 of them take up the challenge each year.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award offers young people the opportunity to get recognition for extra-curricular activities they undertake and to try new activities.  It also requires young people to complete an expedition.  We are very fortunate at King Edward VII School to have many staff willing to help out with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, including a number with extensive outdoor experience and outdoor qualifications.

For more information about the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, please see – www.dofe.org

If you would like more information about how the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award works at King Edward VII School, or you started an award and need help completing it, please email dofe@kes.sheffield.sch.uk.
