The 2010 GCSE Examination Results are very pleasing, with more students than ever achieving five or more passes at Grade C and above (74%), 2.5% up on last year.

Headteacher Beverley Jackson commented “At King Edward VII School we are used to academic excellence and are delighted that once again the school’s results this year are remarkable.  Our students and their teachers deserve our praise and congratulations.  The unstinting support of parents is also a very precious asset for which we are grateful”.

Outstanding KES students are today celebrating excellent results. 28 students achieved at least one grade A*; A* results accounted for 7.5% of the grades achieved demonstrating the academic excellence of the Sixth Form.  Four students gained A* in all their examinations, eight students achieved a mixture of As and A* and a further 12 students gained all grade As.   The overall pass rate was over 97%, with 50% of the results being classed A* - B.

Commenting on the results, Headteacher Beverley Jackson said:  “I am delighted with the well deserved performance of King Edward VII students, which represent a great deal of hard work by both students and teachers.”

The work at Upper School is due to start during October half term 2010 with parts of the existing building being reopened in phases over the next 2 years. A new STEM centre (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) to be built at the back of the main building is due for completion by January 2012. The ICT refurbishment at Lower School is planned to be completed over the summer holiday 2011 ready for September.



This will cause serious disruption in the area as well as between the two school sites.
